Dept. of Telecommuting

The astute among you will recognize that 'telecommuting' is a misnomer. I'm not at home here, but, instead, at UBC, which is empty save for me, the iMac upon which I took this picture, and the second-year guy who's taking the summer to write his thesis because that's the way his scholarship works.

My expression is intended to convey the pain of telecommuting, as least for me, an ENTP terribly suited to working in boxers, next to an open window, checking e-mail every ninety seconds, with a fridge of food downstairs and a million uninvestigated Web nodes spread out before him.

What's your Myers-Briggs type? I don't know. Why don't you take the online test?

I got INTJ and found myself in the same league as Cassius, Calvin Coolidge and Professor Moriarty. Horrid. Maybe i shouldn't have taken the test...

Ooh, INTJ. I think I had a roommate like you once. Are you one of those ones who spends a lot of time in your room? Personable enough, but stern-seeming, without a great need for social concourse?

Cool pics. You look a little bit like Alfidu on that one. Same kind of happy and welcoming face.

I spent half an hour on this test. It's like an horoscope; don,t believe it but you have to read it anyway. Did it twice today. Went from ISTJ to ESFP. The first told me I should run for the US presidency or switch to accountant (or priest perhaps). The second was kind of better. I guess it's kind of schyzophrenic.

Happy and welcoming--two things of which I've seldom been accused.

I think the schizo is you, FP. You took it twice and changed your answers? It is possible that you are borderline in the E/I, T/F, and J/P, but nobody can truly be that wishy-washy.

I think a good president should be half accountant, half priest.

However, I don't think I'm as much the thinker as the profile suggests.

Interesting--that would make sense, though.

The hard thing to judge on that test is whether you are strong in a characteristic or not. I'm pretty close to an INTP--only a tepid extrovert, I guess.

You agree with your write-up?

Hey! You have to take these tests twice - once in the morning when you're grumpy and once in the evening when you're less grumpy and had your cup of coffee. Especially when there's a full moon.

FP, our type relationship is 'enigma' or 'cohort.'

Rolly: 'pal.'

AJ: 'contrast.'

"mutually drawn into experiential escapades"

Hmmm. My twisted mind thinks about drugs, sex and cosmic trips on that one. I guess the Koerners is probably more what it means by "drawn into experiential escapades".

Hey, do you get paid to spend time with Juan Go-Machin on Climate change?

Let's all jump into the Juan Go-Machin. I wonder how you spell that guy's name. You're thinking of Jian Gomeshi? No, no money.

Koerner's Pub was an experiential escapade. With Black Frog ale, and pool cues with no tips. And Ketchup chips. Ahhh.

Right, I keep mixing their names. Why do you Anglophones have so many weird names. Couldn't you have French names, like everyone else?

Too f*cking funny...I border on ENTP and INTP too. And we're both Virgos. Though flattering, I wish you'd stop trying to be like me.
